Question

I was wondering what all of you are planning for your doll Christmas and/or Hanukkah displays this year?

This year I'm just going to place all of my historical AGs in their Christmas outfits, along with their "year" written on cards. (Throughout the year I always keep a seasonally changing doll display on the piano.)

This year my mom and I have also decided to work together to make a fancy Christmas dress for one of my My Twinn dolls (Lindsey on the site). I'm not experienced with working on flouncy outfits, so I thought it might be a fun project to work on together--and hopefully teach me a few things!

I was interested in "hearing" what you would be doing!

Our dolls usually sit on the fireplace. Now they are all in their Halloween costumes. Last Christmas we only had 2 dolls. They sat in a sleigh under the tree. Now we have 6 . I have other stuff for thr fireplace so I don't really know what we will do. They will all dress for Christmas though. I just need Kirsten's outfit.

I've been thinking about this lately, considering who needs a dress and such. I have a deep bench right inside the front door where I display my dolls. Right now, it is set up as Kit's bedroom with her bed and desk. Marlot and Linda are in there. I will very likely use this area. I have three small trees and tons of Hallmark mini ornaments.

The main problem is the clothes. I plan to make Felicity a pale pink holiday gown, as I have a pink Carpatina cloak that is just fab. Molly will wear Addy's Christmas dress, which didn't arrive in time for Christmas last year b/c of UPS, as I don't care for Molly in hunter green. Ruthie will wear the navy and silver one from last year. Kit will wear the black and cream one from last year. I have Kit's Christmas dress, but it is way too tight. Lindsey has a dreidel dress that I love.

So that leaves Marisol and Marlot with no Christmas dress. Or, in other words, THREE Christmas dressed to sew along with the cheerleading outfits I promised my niece for herself and her dolls, MAC Megan and Rose, and a dress for Linda, who is going to my mom's for Christmas.

*sigh* I was hoping to get some eBay sewing done. Fat chance, but oh well!

This is a good question! Let's see...

I will change the historicals (Kirsten and Addy) into their Christmas outfits. They will probably sit in their beds, or maybe stand together on my bookcase.

For my AGOTs I will have them in their respective outfits. The bad thing is that I don't yet have any Christmas clothes. I will probably get the new Cherry one, but that still leaves three girls to try to get dressed. They will most likely stand or sit in their one little areas.

Juliana (#24) will be in Samantha's Winter Party dress for Chanukah and will be with the Chanukah accessories.

    Edited for spelling.

Usually my dolls are in their nightgowns on Christmas morning, so they will match the rest of us!

I've got Samantha's sleigh that's been in the basement since January, so I will be using that for a display - probably in my daughter's room, maybe on the dining room table. Will definitely have the "girls" wearing their Christmas finery.

I will dress all my dolls in Christmas outfits. We have a 12 foot tree in our family room and a 4 foot tree in the living room with a villiage and train under it. I also use three small trees in the living room and dining room with the mini Hallmark ornaments. One of these trees is for the dolls. I will put Sam and Nellie in the sleigh by the 4 foot tree. Felicity and Elizabeth will be in the carrige. I want to try and add some Christmas decorations to the carriage.

Since we live with Bah Humbug, my father. My mother and I have decided that this year we are going all out. We are getting out every Christmas Decoration we can lay our hands on that we already own and are collecting a few new ones. As for the dolls, the AG's will be dressed for Christmas and the AE's will also be dressed and set up decorating my minature Christmas tress with minature oranments.
